Scandinavia: An Unexpected Destination
For some reason, the Scandinavian countries have flown under my travel radar for years Prior to this trip, I had never planned to visit Denmark or Norway. This region just slipped right past my notice, and that is unacceptable!
These countries are beautiful. The cities are rich with food, coffee, art museums, markets, happy people, architecture, and history. Riding bikes around Copenhagen was one of the best travel experiences I’ve had thus far. This city was a marvelous surprise.
In Oslo, my art nerd heart was very happy to visit the Munch Museum. Seeing The Scream in person is something I won’t soon forget.
And don’t even get me started on the coffee. The Scandinavian countries know what they’re doing when it comes to my favorite beverage. There was quality coffee around every corner, the scent wafting out of tiny cafes, welcoming me in. In the smaller town of Bergen, at one of these tiny cafes, I had the best cup of coffee of my life. If these countries have flown under your radar too, go now.
The history, the architecture, the water, and, oh, the rainy mood. I love these kinds of places; I think they’re so cozy.
Does this landscape look familiar? That’s because parts of Harry Potter were filmed along this train route!
It’s a rare photo of the photographer! That’s me at the Oslo Opera House, just trying to figure out how to live in one of these incredible cities permanently.
Did I mention the food? I ate things in these countries that I still crave two years later. Case in point: the culinary wonder that is a hot dog in Copenhagen.
This is one of the many reasons why I love what I do: saying yes to a photography trip to an unexpected place can lead to an incredible travel experience that I won’t soon forget.
